Research project "Digital Security Abroad": Participants wanted!

We are looking for participants for an online survey (15 min) and a workshop study (16th and 17th May, compensation 50,00€).

The graduate school “Security for Humans in Cyberspace (SecHuman)” and CASA Cluster of Excellence of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum are looking for participants of the study “Digital Security Abroad”. In an online survey and an interactive workshop study, we want to explore the following questions:

How do international students in Germany feel about digital security and privacy? What are their experiences and concerns? What do they need – or want – to improve?

ARE YOU

  • an international student/PhD student enrolled at UA Ruhr (RUB, TU Dortmund, Uni Duisburg-Essen)?
  • above the age of 18?
  • living in Germany for less than 5 years?
  • speaking English fluently?
  • not studying Computer Science or related fields?

Then we invite you to take part in our study!

First, you fill in the online survey (approx. 15 min): https://l.rub.de/fc077b32

Then, you can register for an exclusive, interactive workshop study in which you get the chance to work collaboratively and creatively with IT security researchers on a problem of your choice. The workshop takes place on 16th May (3:30 – 5:00 pm) and 17th May (10:00am – 5:00 pm) at the conference centre Beckmanns Hof (RUB). Participation in the workshop will be compensated with 50€ and a goodie-bag, as well as lunch and snacks during the workshop day.

You can register for the workshop here: https://l.rub.de/ab476a0b

Participating in the workshop is not required to fill in the survey. In case of questions don’t hesitate to get in touch: sechuman@rub.de.

How to get there: We will meet in front of the library on the RUB campus (Universitätsbibliothek) at 3.15 pm on 16th May and then walk together to Beckmanns Hof (Directions to the meeting point and to the conference centre Beckmanns Hof)
